Shred-It Truck

Identity Theft Seminar & Community Shred–A–thon August 16th

Redwood Credit Union (RCU) was proud to host the 2nd Annual free Shred-A-Thon and Fraud Prevention seminar at their Cleveland Avenue Administrative Offices in Santa Rosa. Partnering with Shred-It, RCU offered shredding services, for free, to Members and to the community. More than 270 people attended the event to shred more than 430 boxes and 131 bags of sensitive documents. Over 40 people attended the educational seminar about New Trends in Fraud.

RCU is committed to educating Members and the community about ways to protect their identity and keep their sensitive information secure. Please check back for next summer’s dates for RCU's annual Shred-A-Thon & Security Seminar event.

Luther Burbank Rose Parade and Festival May 17th
Go Green & X-Treme

Each year the Luther Burbank Rose Parade & Festival draws more than 3,500 participants to downtown Santa Rosa with over 120 entries, including high school bands, drill teams, dance troops, non-profit groups, equestrians, clowns and of course, politicians. In addition, it takes more than 300 volunteers each year to coordinate different aspects of the parade and festival. For more information visit: www.roseparadefestival.com/


Human Race 08

The Human Race: Sonoma, Marin, Mendocino - May 10th  ~  One Community One Dream

Redwood Credit Union was a proud sponsor of the Human Race in three of the counties we serve: Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino. The Human Race is a nationwide community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations and is the largest collaborative fund-raising event in Sonoma County as well as the largest Human Race in the nation! Each year, an enthusiastic RCU team participates in each of these three races to support our communities and raise funds for local non-profits.


Petaluma Butter and Eggs Day Parade - April 26th

Butter and Eggs Parade

The Butter & Eggs Day Parade and Celebration is an event held in historic Petaluma the weekend of Saturday, April 26th, 2008. Now celebrating its 27th year, this event consistently draws a broad based and family-oriented crowd of over 30,000 from all parts of the North Bay Area. The main component is a parade with over 2,000 participants strolling twelve blocks through the downtown streets of Petaluma. This years theme was "Happy Birthday Petaluma! Redwood Credit Union volunteers were there to help in the celebration.



American Heart Association's
"Go Red For Women" Day

February 1, 2008

Redwood Credit Union employees showed their commitment to heart health awareness by wearing red on the American Heart Association's (AHA's) "National Wear Red Day, on February 1st. As part of their participation in the AHA's "Go Red for Women" program, RCU staffers wore red to increase awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women (and men) in America, and to promote healthy lifestyle choices to prevent heart disease. Heart of Marin Awards

January 10, 2008

The Heart of Marin Awards honors Marin County nonprofit groups and the committed individuals who serve them. Jan Wahl, film critic for KCBS and KRON 4, emceed the event.

Nominees were recognized and awards presented in the following categories: Excellence in Leadership, Excellence in Board Leadership, Volunteer of the Year, Youth Volunteers of the Year, Achievement in Nonprofit Excellence and Corporate Community Service. Winners in each of the first five categories received an award of $5,000 to go to the nonprofit of their choice.
