Each October, Redwood Credit Union (RCU) celebrates International Credit Union Week to honor the credit union difference. Unlike profit-driven financial institutions, credit unions offer the unique characteristics of being not-for-profit, service-focused, Member-owned, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and committed to providing free financial literacy and education programs to Members and our communities.

While important to know, these may not be the deciding factors when you make your financial choices. Most people make their financial decisions based on value and trust. We work hard each and every day to earn and maintain the trust of our 145,000 Members, and we hope our Members recognize that RCU offers the best overall value available in financial services.

Other institutions advertise enticing rates or one-time offers to gain business, but look at the small print and you’ll find that there is often a catch – hidden restrictions or fees that reduce the value of the offer, sometimes significantly. Your Credit Union provides real, straightforward value that Members can trust and rely on every day, including low loan rates, higher savings yields, and few or no fees. You can trust that our products and services are designed just as our mission delineates – to serve the best interests of our Members. We do not seek to profit from Members, but rather, we return earnings to you through real value and expanded services.

Our ability to provide you this level of value and service is a direct result of your participation in RCU. By bringing all or most of your financial services to us, and allowing us to be your primary financial institution, you strengthen the cooperative so that we can offer even more value and service to every Member. It is this cooperative spirit and philosophy that is the foundation of the credit union movement: people helping people.
